The New Trakker is designed to work in all weathers and on all types of terrain – from unmetalled roads to extreme off-road conditions – with the utmost safety, comfort and productivity.​

ROBUST: FRAME IN HIGH-YIELD-STRENGTH STEEL
​A structure designed for extreme conditions

One of the key strengths of all Iveco vehicles has always been the reliability and robustness of their frames, and these strengths are even more evident on the new New Trakker.

Consisting of double-bottleneck, U-section rails in special steel, the frames are available in 2 thicknesses (7.7mm for applications in which tare weight is a priority and 10mm for the most demanding missions).

The New Trakker offers various types of suspension, including mechanical suspension with parabolic or semi-elliptical leaf springs. For enhanced comfort and optimum stability, there are also models with air suspension with four bellows and ECAS (Electronically Controlled Air Suspension).

RELIABLE: STATE-OF-THE-ART GEARBOXES
​Reliable, efficient gearboxes

The manual gearboxes on the New Trakker are 16-speed ZF units.

They are perfectly tailored to the mission of the vehicle, and offer high levels of reliability, low maintenance costs and increased efficiency and productivity.

They are also exceptionally easy to use, thanks to the double H layout.

The 16-speed mechanical gearbox is equipped with a servo-shift system for increased driver comfort and quick, precise gear changes. The pneumatic servo system reduces driver effort during gear changes by 50%, and gear lever travel has been reduced by 40%.

Eurotronic = comfort and reliability

As well as conventional manual gearboxes, the New Trakker offers all the technological excellence of the EuroTronic automated gearbox with steering-wheel-mounted gear lever.
This offers a host of benefits, including a 60kg weight reduction compared with the manual gearbox, more compact dimensions and a smaller number of pneumatic and electrical connections.
The absence of synchronisers makes gear changes quicker and more secure: the system prevents incorrect gear selection.

​The EuroTronic gearbox can be used in fully automatic or semi-automatic mode. The automatic gear shift is calculated on the basis of load, traffic conditions and driving style, thus optimising acceleration, fuel consumption and comfort.
For use in difficult conditions, such as off-road driving, you can select off-road mode, by pressing a button on the dashboard, for increased torque and pull-away power.

EFFICIENT: COMBINED ENGINE BRAKE AND ECAS

​​CEB: Combined Engine Brake

The CEB – Combined Engine Brake is an uprated engine brake which combines two effects: decompression and braking torque. By means of a butterfly valve on the exhaust manifold, it generates sufficient exhaust gas counterpressure to slow the rotation of the engine and increase the braking force.

Waste-gate: more torque, lower fuel consumption, high reliability
The design of the waste-gate turbo allows high boost at low engine speeds, thereby optimising torque and fuel consumption. Once maximum turbo pressure (corresponding to high engine speeds) is reached, however, the engine and turbo must be mechanically protected.
This task is performed by the waste-gate system, which limits the pressure on the turbo and keeps it constant, by allowing the gradual egress of gases directly to the exhaust manifold in certain conditions.

​Variable-geometry turbo: more power, no turbo lag
The turbo system makes a major contribution to the performance of the engines, and offers strong acceleration, fluid power delivery and high power. It also enhances driving comfort by eliminating turbo lag, because the engine always responds immediately to inputs from the accelerator.
By means of an electronic control system, the variable-geometry turbo adapts the geometry of the turbo to the engine speed: thanks to a system of coaxial rotor movement, the turbo adapts to the incoming volume of exhaust gas, thereby optimising control of turbo pressure.

ECAS: Electronically Controlled Air Suspension

ECAS stands for Electronically Controlled Air Suspension. It is a system which ensures the utmost driver comfort and constant chassis geometry regardless of speed, load and road type. It also acts on the braking pressure, which is delivered in proportion to the load on the axles.

​To achieve the highest levels of productivity, beyond the reach of others, the New Trakker has further improved its performance.

For Iveco, looking after the driver means not only providing an ideal work vehicle, but also offering robust, functional design.

​​​​​Smart practical solutions

The New Trakker is enhanced with styling solutions that give even more strength to its unmistakable looks

The new front stands out for its central grille, re-designed bumper cladding and re-styled sun visor.

Vehicle protection

All structural and cab parts have been designed with a mix of on- and off-road use in mind.
The steel front bumper is divided into three parts to reduce the cost of replacement in the event of partial damage.

A protective grille is fitted as standard on the light-clusters, to protect them against damage caused by stones or protruding objects.
A steel plate under the front bumper can also be specified as an option, to protect the radiator and intercooler system.

The New Trakker also comes with vertical silencers as standard, for use of equipment when the vehicle is stationary with the engine on.

​​​​Hi-Comfort and Ergonomics

The cab of the New Trakker is designed around the driver. Class-leading ergonomics, comfort, safety and infotainment provide an optimum work environment that maximises productivity on every job.

Three cab versions are available:

o short (Hi-Land)
o long (Hi-Track)
o long with high roof (Hi-Track)

The driver’s seat plays a key role in the driver’s work environment. On the New Trakker, it is equipped with:

o integrated head restraint and seat belt
o adjustable air suspension and a quick lowering device
o seat swab adjustable for height, angle and depth (with optional heating)
o adjustable seat back with lumbar support

​The New Trakker can be approved to accommodate up to three people.
Even in quarry vehicles, it is vital to have plenty of high-capacity storage compartments to keep the things you need tidy.
All the compartments are within easy reach and are easy to open and close.

Depending on the type of cab, the storage compartments are located:

o in the overhead windscreen rack
o between the driver and passenger seats
o under the seats
o under the bottom bunk (Hi-Track cab only)
o in the doors

HI-LAND
Ideal for short-haul work

The Hi-Land short cab version, which is suited to short-haul work, has been designed to offer ideal work conditions even when you’re stationary. There’s plenty of space behind the driver’s seat,
and the practical features include coat-hooks, central storage module with built-in table/desk, and an optional third seat.

HI-TRACK
​Ideal for long-haul work

For applications involving overnight stops, the New Trakker can be specified with a Hi-Track cab, with a night area (1.82m high) equipped with either one or two bunks.
The Hi-Track low-roof cab is fitted with a folding, intermediate bunk as standard.
Hi-Track high-roof cabs can be specified with a second top bunk with safety net.
All the cabs have a skylight (with optional electrical control).

​​​​Hi-Efficiency

The Cursor engines with variable-geometry turbo offer class-leading power and torque, excellent driveability and targeted solutions for reducing fuel consumption and vehicle downtimes.

As well as meeting these limits, the SCR technology (Selective Catalytic Reduction using AdBlue additive) adopted by Iveco across its entire medium/heavy range also contributes to reducing running costs (with 5% lower fuel consumption).
The Cursor range is lightweight and low-maintenance (with service intervals of up to 150,000 km), and offers enhanced reliability. Because unlike EGR, SCR does not involve gas recirculation in the combustion chamber.

​​​​Hi-Performance

​All the engines not only meet Euro VI c. standards, but can also be optionally specified to meet the stringent requirements of the EEV (Enhanced Environmentally-Friendly Vehicles) voluntary environmental standard.

The New Trakker’s engines are available in displacements of 9 and 13 litres, covering a power range of 360 to 500HP. Frugal, lightweight and extremely powerful, they allow higher rated loads with engines of smaller displacement.
Maximum torque is on tap from very low engine speeds and for a very wide operating range.

All the Cursor engines (except for the 410HP version) are equipped with the Iveco Turbo Brake decompression engine braking system, which is fully integrated with the main and auxiliary (Intarder) braking systems, thereby combining maximum safety with low running costs.

CURSOR 8
Power 360 HP

The Cursor 8 is a 7,790 cc, in-line six-cylinder engine with variable-geometry turbo (VGT) and power rating of 360HP.

The turbo system makes a major contribution to the performance of the engines, and offers strong acceleration, fluid power delivery and high power.
It also enhances driving comfort by eliminating turbo lag, because the engine always responds immediately to inputs from the accelerator.

By means of an electronic control system, the variable-geometry turbo adapts the geometry of the turbo to the engine speed: thanks to a system of coaxial rotor movement, the turbo adapts to the incoming volume of exhaust gas, thereby optimising control of turbo pressure.

The Cursor 8 360HP engine delivers peak torque of 1,500 Nm from 1,125 rpm and keeps it constant up to 1,685 rpm.

CURSOR 13
Power ratings from 410 to 500 HP

The Cursor 13 is a 12,880 cc, in-line six-cylinder engine available with three power ratings:

o 410HP with fixed-geometry turbo and waste-gate
o 450 and 500HP with variable-geometry turbo (VGT).

The Cursor 13 500HP engine delivers peak torque of 2,300Nm from 1,000 rpm and keeps it constant up to 1,525 rpm.

The Cursor 13 410HP engine is equipped with Iveco’s Combined Engine Brake.

CEB: Double-acting engine brake

The CEB – Combined Engine Brake is an uprated engine brake which combines two effects: decompression and braking torque. By means of a butterfly valve on the exhaust manifold, it generates sufficient exhaust gas counterpressure to slow the rotation of the engine and increase the braking force.

HI-VERSATILITY
The ideal configuration for every mission

The New Trakker range includes:

o 2 versions (chassis cab and tractor) with gross vehicle weight of up to 40 tonnes (chassis cab) and 56 tonnes (in the tractor + semi-trailer combination),
o 2 engines (8 and 13 litres) with 4 power ratings up to 500HP,
o 5 transmissions (16-speed manual and EuroTronic 12-speed and 16-speed automated),
o 2 cabs: short (Hi-Land) for daily use, and long (Hi-Track) for applications involving overnight stops,
o 2 heights of roof (low and high),
o 2, 3 or 4 axles with partial or all-wheel drive (4×2, 4×4, 6×4, 6×6, 8×4 and 8×8).

These features can be combined with a wide range of frames, suspensions and final drive ratios. The wealth of variants means you will always find the right vehicle for your mission: in total, the New Trakker is available in over 1,700 factory versions.

Thanks to this huge range, the New Trakker is always the right vehicle for every application

o aggregates transport (tipper body),
o concrete transport (concrete mixer),
o highway maintenance
o and special transport.

The agility and robustness of the Trakker also make it the ideal choice for rescue services (fire and rescue, civil protection) and defence applications.

AGGREGATE TRANSPORT
​Tipper body

The Trakker can be fitted with any type of tipper body for the transport of quarry or mine aggregates

The New Trakker’s strengths in this arena are:

o frame in high-yield-strength, high-flexural-strength and high-torsion-strength steel
o mechanical or air suspension requiring no maintenance or greasing
o a wide range of power take-offs with 1 or 2 shafts with pump mounting bracket, capable of meeting all requirements associated with different types of tipper body;
o shortened rear overhangs for minimising bodybuilder modifications and conversion times;
o omega mounting brackets already located on the frame for mounting tipping subframes;
o tipping rear underrun protection o cab customisation with inspection step and roof grab-handle for load inspection and tarpaulin operations;
o vehicle manoeuvring warning lights;

o vehicle reversing audible signal
o lower radiator protection against accidental impacts.

For aggregates transport , Iveco recommends 3- or 4-axle versions:

o with a 360HP Cursor 8 engine for optimising rated load
with Cursor 13 engine (up to 500 HP) for heavy-duty applications (available with partial or all-wheel drive).

CONCRETE TRANSPORT
​Special conversions for the construction industry

The New Trakker is the ideal vehicle for special conversions for the construction industry: concrete mixers, concrete pumps, pump trucks, concrete conveyors, portable pumps, concrete sprayers and stationary booms.

The Trakker’s strengths in this arena are:

o engine-driven or Multipower power take-offs for torque outputs of 600 to 900Nm depending on the volume of the concrete mixer drum and the type of concrete used (pre-mixed or mixed on the vehicle);
o possibility of operating up to 3 power take-offs simultaneously for complex systems such as mixer pumps or concrete pumps;
o shortened rear overhangs for minimising bodybuilder modifications and conversion times;
o conversion mounting plates predisposed on the frame;
o vertical silencer; o double outriggers for stabilising vertical loads;
o weight reduction kit (lightweight alloy air tank and wheels);
o software customisation and low-speed mode for concrete discharge;

​o vehicle manoeuvring warning lights;
o CAN open interface for customising the vehicle/conversion interface.

The following versions are recommended for concrete transport:

o AD380T with power ratings of 360, 410, 450 or 500HP (3 axles) for load volumes of up to 10m3
o AD410T with power ratings of 410, 450 or 500HP (4 axles) for load volumes of up to 12m3.

SNOW CLEARANCE
Highway maintenance

Highway maintenance work requires an ability to operate in inaccessible areas with steep gradients and low-grip surfaces – and Trakker has the necessary power and agility.
The New Trakker’s strengths in this arena are:

o permanent all-wheel drive;
o drive axle for loads of up to 9 tonnes, so that you can work with a wide range of snow-plough implements;
o rear air suspension for constant trim when working with rear-mounted salt-spreaders;
o engine-driven or Multipower power take-offs for torque outputs of 600 to 900Nm;
o tandem pumps to cover a comprehensive range of hydraulic body movement requirements;
o CAN open interface for customising the vehicle/conversion interface.

SPECIAL TRANSPORT
On and off road

In tractor configuration, the New Trakker has all the necessary robustness and convertibility for special transport applications both on and off road.

PTO – POWER TAKE-OFFS
​Power take-offs

All models of the New Trakker are predisposed for the fitting of power take-offs with various ratios and performance specifications (torque delivery of 300 to 1000Nm) – which can be installed at various points of the vehicle depending on the type of conversion..

The predisposition includes:

o wiring looms in cab and on frame,
o dashboard-mounted control for PTO engagement,
o electronic control unit
o and expansion module for programming up to three PTOs.

Three different types of PTO are available, which differ by mode of use (with vehicle stationary or moving) and level of torque delivery:

o Engine PTO: usable in permanent mode, these offer high torque output both with the vehicle stationary and in movement;
o Gearbox PTO: ideal for primarily stationary applications requiring medium/low torque;
o Transfer box PTO: ideal for primarily stationary applications requiring high torque.
